Clarice "Clare" A. Finck, 73, died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 in her home.

Born April 26, 1937 in Wood River, she was the daughter of Charles and Louise (Helmkamp) Neunaber. On May 30, 1937 she was baptized. She graduated from Bethalto Civic Memorial High in 1955. Clare was a Real Estate Broker and a member of the Illinois Association of Realtors. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church where she played in the hand bell choir. She was a member of and served as President of T.O.P.S. She was a Parliamentarian, Notary Public and a Toastmistress.

On July 16, 1966 in Godfrey, she married Fred E. Finck. He survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Casey L. (Finck) Martin of El Dorado, AR, a son, Jeffery S. Higgins and his wife Debbie K. Higgins of Godfrey, a granddaughter, Amanda L. Higgins, numerous nieces and nephews, a sister, Esther Eberhart of Wood River and two sisters-in-law, Clare Neunaber of Maryland and Vina Neunaber of Rosewood Heights. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Cecil Neunaber and a sister, Alice Taylor.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home. Pastor Fischer will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice.
