Donna M. Kribs, 66, died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.


Born October 20, 1943 in Alton, IL, she was the daughter of Viola (Blumberg) Caulk of Edwardsville and the late Robert Caulk.


Donna was a people person and loved working with the public. She had worked for Kirlin’s Hallmark and Card America at Alton Square Mall, Johnson’s Corner in Alton and a checker at Shop-n-Save. She was anxious to return to work at Shop-n-Save and be around the people again, but was unable to. She had volunteered with the Girl Scouts and hospice at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She also volunteered with the Easter Seals Society. On November 21, 1964 in Edwardsville, she married Steve Kribs. He survives.


Also surviving is a daughter, Stephanie Kribs-Grabner and her husband Dave of Alton, two sons, Mark Kribs and his wife Lainie of Alton and Paul Kribs of Alton, seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Cole, Alyse, Ben and Matthew Kribs and Hayden and Nick Grabner, one brother, Dennis Caulk and his wife Jean of Colorado Springs, CO and two sisters, Debra Schwartz and her husband Robert of Irving, TX and Bernie Ladwig and her husband Len of Edwardsville. She was preceded in death by her father.


Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private.
