Surrounded by his family, Kenneth E. Fessler, 64, passed away at 1:10 pm Saturday May 1, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born May 12, 1945 in Alton to his late parents, Harold & Julia (McKee) Fessler.
After a lifetime of trade work as a machinist, he retired from Shell Oil Refinery in Wood River in 2000 and formerly worked for Owens Illinois Godfrey Machine Shop. He was a member of several local car clubs and enjoyed rebuilding hot rods. He was an avid cyclist and outdoorsman.
He is survived by a daughter, Tamara Yogore-Emery and her fiancé Charles McKean; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey & Teresa Fessler of Belleville and Jacob Fessler of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Connor, Morgun and Riley-Ann Yogore and Kutter Emery, one brother and sister-in-law, Tom & Margie Fessler of Godfrey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Nancy Fessler.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday May 4, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial Services will be private.
Memorials may be made in care of Kenny Fessler to fund Barnes-Jewish Hospital research.
