Donna L. Cafazza, 73, passed away at 12:25 am on Monday, April 19, 2010, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 14, 1936, in Eldred, Illinois the daughter of the late Floyd and Elsie (Newton) Chapman.
She married Anthony "Tony" Cafazza on November 26, 1955, in East Alton and he survives. Other survivors include four daughters and sons in law: Gina and Kevin Branch of Wood River, Illinois, Chris and Jeff Case of Wood River, Illinois, Lisa and Dan Soliday of Bloomington, Illinois, Laurie and Mark St. Peters of Wood River, Illinois, one son and daughter in law: John and Missy Cafazza of Bethalto, Illinois, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one expectant great grandson, one sister and brother in law: Carol and Howard Heffner of Roxana, one sister in law: Roseann Stice of East Alton.
A homemaker, she was a member of Holy Angels Parish in Wood River. She was a former member of the Daughter's of Isabella. She dearly loved her family and devoted her life to raising five children. She was a beautiful example of faith and love and she touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by her family and her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Pat Courto.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010, with a prayer service at 3:45pm at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 23, 2010, at Holy Angels Parish in Wood River. Father James Flach will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice or Patient Access Network and will be accepted at the funeral home.
