Donald R. Monroe, age 46, passed away at 8:30 am, Thursday, April 8, 2010, at his residence.
He was born in Alton, IL on April 22. 1963, to Homer W. and Alfrieda L. (Kennedy) Monroe.
Donald enjoyed hunting for mushrooms in the spring, fishing, arrowhead hunting and being out in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed working on his cars, and especially enjoyed being with family and friends.
He married Stephanie D. (Beavers) on July 29, 2006 in Wood River, Il. she survives.
He is survived by a step-daughter; Haley Belcher of Batchtown, Il. three brothers; Phillip W. and his spouse Donna Monroe of Godfrey, Il. Ralph M. Monroe of Carlyle, Il. William P. and his spouse Cindy Monroe of East Alton, Il. two sisters; Emily J. Blagg of Gainsville, FL. And Marena L. Turner of Alton, Il. and several Nieces, Nephew and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Preston Scott Monroe and Clyde Dean Monroe, and twin brothers at infancy; Charles Edward and Michael Wayne Monroe.
Visitation will be from 11 am till time of service at 1pm, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, Il. Pastor Daren Carstens will officiate.
Inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
