Charlotte Wallace

Charlotte F. Wallace, 75, passed away at 7:27 pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton.

She was born on May 27, 1934 in Jerseyville, Illinois the daughter of the late Eldon and Imogene (Cope) Stone.

She married Carl Wallace Sr. on January 12, 1957 in Jerseyville, Illinois and he survives. She was raised by her maternal grandparents: George and Lottie Cope.

Other survivors include one son and daughter in law: Carl "Ed" and Lauri Wallace Jr. of St. Louis, one daughter and son in law: Mary and John Walter of East Alton, three grandchildren: Melissa Walter and her fiance' Mike Bock, Chris Walter, and Lance Wallace, one great granddaughter: Lillian Ann Bock, one sister and brother in law: Donna and Leroy Cox of White Hall, Illinois, a half brother and sister in law: Jim and Mary Stone of St. Louis, Missouri, her half sisters: Mary Marmino of Troy, Illinois, Linda Emmons of Brighton, Illinois, Virginia Hendricks and her husband Dennis of Alton, Illinois, Frances Ingold of Ridgeway, Illinois, a step sister and her husband: Pat and Gary Frazier of St. Louis, Missouri, her sisters in law: Dee Dee Wallace of Alton, Marilyn Perdun and her husband: Sonny of Jerseyville, Illinois, Myrna Landon and her husband: Harold of Carlinville, Illinois, Barbara Eddings and her husband: John of Springfield, Illinois, her brothers in law and sisters in law: Riley and Joan Wallace of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Loren and Barb Wallace of Quincy, Illinois.

She was formerly employed at Sears as a manager in the candy department for over 10 years, she worked at the Lewis and Clark Restaurant in the salad department for over 10 years and in 1980 she and her husband purchased No Man's Land in East Alton and she worked there until her retirement in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Kenny Stone, two half brothers: David Marmino and Mike Marmino, and a brother in law: Jerry Wallace.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the funeral home. Pastor Pam Laing will officiate.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony's Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
