Verda Culli

Verda Charlotte Culli, 85, died at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Robings Manor Nursing Home in Brighton.

She was born in Mt. Vernon on Aug. 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Thomas & Noveland (Bean) Willmore.She was raised in the Mt. Vernon area, and married Herbert Culli on Nov. 3, 1945 in Hendersonville, Ky.  They made Mt. Vernon their home for 25 years before moving to Brighton in 1960.  They remained there for many years until moving to the Alton/Godfrey area.  She had been employed as a cook at the Alton/Wood River Sportsmen Club, retiring in 1986.Surviving are a daughter & son in law, Patricia & John Peipert of Brighton: a son & daughter in law, Mike & Cindy Culli of Houston, Tx.; five grandchildren & their spouses, John & Judy Peipert of Godfrey, Shawnna & Carl Crawford of Jerseyville, Brian Culli, Aaron Culli, and Daniel & Amanda Culli all of Houston; 11 Great Grandchildren; a sister, Vera Ventimiglia of Alton; a brother, Glen Willmore of Rockwell, Tx.; and a sister in law, Clara Willmore of Moro.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Culli on  June 12, 2005; and a brother, Thomas Lee Willmore.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday.Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wedneday at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, IL.Memorials may be given to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
