Dewey Thrasher

Dewey G. Thrasher, 72, died Thursday, April 1, 2010.

Born January 30, 1938 in Keiser, Arkansas, he was the son of Barney and Bertha (Sturch) Thrasher. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He was a 40 year member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge and a two time past Worthy Patron of the Walton Chapter of the Eastern Star and he was of the Christian faith. He was a retired engineer from McDonnell Douglas.

On July 26, 1968 in Alton, he married the former Gloria S. Stupperich. She survives. Also surviving is a brother, Larry Thrasher and his wife Helen of Judsonia, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
