Marcia L. Leverett, 71, passed away at 7:26 am on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Blu Fountain Manor in Godfrey.
She was born on November 11, 1938 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Stanley & Mary (Richards) Madison.
She married John J. Leverett on June 9, 1979 in Bethalto at her home. He passed away on July 26, 2002.
Marcia worked as a bookkeeper at the Alton Telegraph in the classified section for over 12 years until her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed cooking, her flowers and garden, reading and traveling.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Todd and Debra & Matthew Snyder, all of Bethalto; one grandson, Kyle Thompson of Bethalto and a brother & sister-in-law, Dennis & Sandra Madison of Bethalto
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, Elias, Kallal and SchaafFuneral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral visitation will continue from 10 am until time of service at 11 am on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
