Donald Green

Donald Lewis Green, 73, of Las Vegas, passed away February 27, 2010. 

He was born November 20, 1936 in Jerseyville, IL, the son of T.M. “Ketchum” and Kathryn Green. 

He had been a resident of Nevada for 14 years.  Donald served with the U.S. Army in Laos.  He was a licensed painting contractor and the owner of D & L Painting for 30 years.  He was a member and past president of Montclair Lions Club, a charter member of Helendale Lions Club, a sponsor of the Montclair Eastern Little League Baseball and a longtime Pop Warner Football coach.  Donald was also an avid dirt bike rider and outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed camping with family and friends. 

A loving husband and devoted father, Donald is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn “Sam” Green of Las Vegas, son, Jeff Green, daughter-in-law, Cathy and grandsons, Zackary and Garrett, all of Long Beach, CA, son Rick Green and his special friend, Amie Fortin of Escalante, Utah, granddaughter, Casey Jade and his brother and best friend, Harold Green and his special friend Shirley Thompson of Godfrey. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2010 at the home of Harold Green in Godfrey.  Father David Boase will officiate.  Memorials may be made to a local Lions Club.
