Rosalie Rodgers

Rosalie Rodgers, age 93, passed away at 5:40 am, Sunday, March 20, 2010, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.

She was born in Eldarado, IL on October 19, 1916, to the late Monroe and Iva (White) Cox.

She was employed with Owens Glass Company as an inspector for 30 years retiring in 1978.  She was a member of Calvary Temple Church, Oinized Club.  She loved playing cards and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by a son Byford Roberts of Godfrey, two grandchildren and their spouses Tim and Katie Roberts of Benld, Debbie and Tom Lyons of Godfrey, two great grandchildren and their spouses Dawn and Dennis McIntire of Alton, Danielle and Michael Jones of Alton, five great great grandchildren, two brothers and their spouses Jerry and Sharon Cox of Alton, Randall and Shirley Cox of Snowflake, AZ and one sister and her spouse Shirley and Bob Torrez of Alton.

Her parents preceded her, one son Ray Roberts, one great grandson Kenny Ray Roberts, one sister Doris Hiller, four brothers Clifford, James, Ralph and Reginald Cox.

Visitation will be Monday March 22, 2010 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with funeral services at Calvary Temple Church in Alton Tuesday March 23, 2010 at 10 am with Rev. Lionel Gruver officiating. 

Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be given to the Calvary Temple Church or the 5 A’s.

Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton are in charged of the arrangements.
