Elmer J. Kuethe, 88, fell asleep in the peace of the Lord and entered into his heavenly home at 7:25 am on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on September 23, 1921 in Dorsey, IL, the son of Ferd & Laura (Bertels) Kuethe.
He married Martha H. Peters on February 4, 1951 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Dorsey, IL. She passed away on September 16, 2006.
Elmer was a farmer for most of his life. He was a life long member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Dorsey
He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law; Shirley & William Gillihan of Edwardsville and Karen & Kevin Rust of Glen Carbon; four grandchildren and spouses, Jason & Amanda Gillihan, Kristine & Joshua Woelfel, Brandyn Rust, and Gretchen & Dave McGinley; one great grandson, James Gillihan one great granddaughter, Morgan Woelfel and a sister, Deloris Whitlock of Rosewood Heights.
His parents, his wife and a sister, Verneda Lawrence, preceded him in death.
In celebration of his life, visitation will from 4 pm to 7 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral Service will be at 10 am on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Dorsey with Rev. Dr. George Gude officiating.
Burial will follow at Emmaus Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church debt reduction fund.
