Geneva "Jenny" E. Balke, 85, passed away at 10:40 am Friday March 5, 2010 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.
She was born on May 21, 1924 in Scott City, MO the daughter of John & Lula (Henderson) Gibson.
She married Ralph Balke on April 15, 1983 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Alton. He survives.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton and enjoyed traveling and vacations.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Robert Coomer of Delta, MO; one son, John Simpher of Cape Girardeau, MO; two grandchildren, H. Dean Davis and his wife, Linda of Delta, MO and Jeffrey Davis of Redding, CA; five great grandchildren, Clayton, Todd, Will, Emily and Catherine Davis.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Lee and William Gibson, also preceded her in death.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Sunday March 7, 2010 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday March 8, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Bishop Victor Balke celebrating.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be to Masses at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
