Joseph Bainer, 95, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born July 14, 1914 in Livingston, IL, he was the son of John and Helen (Gocis) Bainer.
He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. He worked as a coal minor, farmer, state worker and retired as a security guard for Laclede Steel in Alton.
Surviving are dear friends Stephen and Cathy Forbes of Alton and their daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Jeff Jones of Godfrey and their children Emma and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Bainer.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mayfield Cemetery in Carlinville, IL with full military honors by the VFW Post 1308 where he was a member.
