Mary Finke

Mary Ann (Roswell) Finke, 67 went to be with her Lord at 10:50 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton with her family by her side.

She was born on February 28, 1942 in Hartford, AR, the daughter of James & Beaulah (Schramm) Dorman.

She married James Roswell in 1966. Later she married Donald Finke in 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Bethalto. He passed away in 2007.

She worked as a respiratory therapist at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton for over 20 years retiring in 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bethalto where she taught preschool, Adult Sunday school and was involved in the choir. She was a facilitator for the Better Breathers Club, a member of the Red Hat Society and was a substitute teacher for the Bethalto School District for many years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, crafts and was very creative and talented. She wrote a monthly article for her hometown newspaper in Hartford, AR and she loved spending time with her family and friends. Most of all she loved her Lord.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve & Christy Roswell of Bethalto and Mark & Holli Roswell of Wood River; five grandchildren, Colten Roswell, Brandon Sweeney, Brittney Kinser, Joshua Roswell and Justin Roswell; a brother & sister-in-law, Joe & Mary Jess Dorman of Springdale, AR; a sister-in-law, Anna Dorman of Gruver, TX; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, James Carl Dorman.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Bethalto with Pastor Chip Faulkner officiating.

Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
