Leah Y. Morten, 77, passed away at 5:24 pm Saturday February 6, 2010 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.

She was born on August 8, 1932 in Alton, the daughter of Charles & Ida (Dallmar) McDonald.

She married Curtis Morten in 1952. He survives.

She worked for Supervalu Foods for more than 20 years as their secretary. She was a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School, she enjoyed bingo, computers and was an avid bowler. She was a fan of Elvis and enjoyed listening to Steve Davis perform Elvis.

She loved to spend time with her family and go to their weekend getaway in Gillespie.

In addition to her husband, Curtis Morten of Alton, she is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve & Sue Morten, and Michael & Mary Morten of East Alton; ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Jane Taylor of Alton; one brother, John McDonald and significant other, Ken Schmidt; of Brandon, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James McDonald and other family members.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday February 10, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday.

Burial will be private at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and/or St. Francis Convent.
