Joseph E. Ohley, 88, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Tallahassee, Florida after a brief illness.
He had been a resident of Tallahassee for the past 16 years. He was born in Alton, Illinois, the son of the late Walter and Lucy Ohley.
He worked for Olin Corporation in East Alton, Illinois for 40 years, retiring in 1978. Joe was a World War II Veteran serving proudly in the Navy in the South Pacific.
Mr. Ohley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Duane Kruse of Tallahassee, a brother, John David Ohley and his wife Lois, of Mr. Vernon, Illinois and long time friend, Ms Dot Carroll of Tallahassee and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Ellen Virginia Ohley, his brother, James Ohley, and second wife of 7 years, Louise Crawford Ohley.
A Mass of Celebration on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Tallahassee, FL
Visitation will be held at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 11:00am to 1:00 pm with burial immediately following at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey. Father Steve Pohlman is the celebrant.
Family request memorials be given to a charity of one's choice.
