Robert Nelson Orr Jr, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at 3:30 am Sunday, January 3, 2010 at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO. He was born in -- on July 30, 1944 son of Robert and Ruby (Humphrys) Orr Sr. He was married to Leah Clark in Las Vegas, NV September 16, 1994. She survives.
Robert was employed by Owens Illinois machine shop in Godfrey were he worked as a machinist for over 40 years. He belonged to the Wood River Moose Lodge #1349 and was a member of the Greater St. James Baptist Church of Alton.
He is survived by four sons and their wives, Kris & Lisa Orr of Murphysboro, TN, Brian & Stephanie Orr of Bethalto, Sabin Orr of Las Vegas, Mitchell Orr of St. Louis, one daughter and her husband Kelly & Ed Giddens of Coppell, TX; six grandchildren Kailey & Kenzie Orr, Connor & Madison Giddens, Andrew & Samantha Orr; three step brothers and their wives Joseph & Karen Ziegler of Jerseyville, Earl & Beverly Ziegler East Alton, Bruce & Rosemary Ziegler of White Hall, IL, one step sister Linda Leonard of Jacksonville, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents one sister Carolyn Orr, two brothers Roger & Charlie Orr.
Visitation will be Thursday January 7, 2010 from 4 to 8 pm at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with funeral services Friday 10 am January 8, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. E. J. Roberts officiating.
Burial will be in Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Stroke Foundation.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey will be in charge of arrangements.
