Rosemary (Hess) Flavin, 90, went to be with the Lord at 4:15 am Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at VIP Manor in Wood River.
She was born on May 7, 1919 in Alton, Illinois, daughter of Fred E. & Sophia (Adame) Hess.
She married Leonard E. Flavin on November 8, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Rosemary was a credit reporter for the Alton Credit Bureau for 13 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, the Altar Society and Senior Services Plus.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. Flavin of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) A. & Robert J. Graham of Wood River; 2 grandchildren, Michael R. & Carrie Graham of Cincinnati, OH and Susan E. & David Price of Cottage Hills; 5 great grandchildren, Lucas and Zachary Keller, Savannah Price and Jackson and Matthew Graham; a sister, Harriet Ward of Alton; and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John L. Flavin and brother, Fred B. Hess.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10am Saturday, January 2, 2009 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Jim Walther O.M.V. officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be given to Masses and or the Activity Department at VIP Manor.
