Beatrice Stauffer

Beatrice L. Stauffer, 94, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at Palm Garden Nursing Home in Sun City Center, Fla. Born Oct. 25, 1915 in Perry, Ill., she was the daughter of Ira Eaves and Ruth Olive (Liehr) Eaves Armstrong.

She married Christopher R. "Bob" Stauffer March 23, 1934 in Dallas City, Ill. He passed away Oct. 21, 2004. A homemaker, she was a lifetime member of the East Alton Church of Christ. She had a heart of gold and would gladly help any of her family, friends, neighbors, and church family with even the smallest of tasks.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Charles Simpson and Beverly and Richard Conger, all of Florida, Joyce and Ronald Stilwell of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Roberta Gannon of Godfrey; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Betty Stauffer of Wood River; 10 grandchildren, Larry Dean Gannon, Sandra Madrigal, Lisa Chick, Tabby Eckleberry, Sheila Mayer, Charles Robert Stauffer, Cynthia Griffin, and Monica, Cheryl and William Robert Paul Conger; 15 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Robert Stauffer; a grandson, Robert L. Stilwell; and two brothers, Harold Eaves and Lawrence Elmo Eaves.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Brother Jerry Parks will officiate services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29.

Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the East Alton Church of Christ.
