Lila Alfreda Stewart, 86, passed away at 7:22 pm Thursday December 10, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born on July 12, 1923 in Arbyrd, MO, the daughter of Joseph B. & Lela C. (Taylor) Spears.
She married Ovid Lacey Ervin on June 21, 1942 in Alton and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1956. She then married Jack Stewart on March 16, 1973 and he preceded her in death in May 2002.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law; James L. Ervin of Colorado and Ronald & Jean Ervin of Godfrey; five step children, James, Bill, Jeff and Mike Stewart, and Diane Hanse; five grandchildren, James Ervin Jr., Kelly Lemmons, Aaron Holmes, Jami Darnell and Christopher Ervin; one sister, Betty Hinthorne of Bunker Hill, and one brother, Randy Rushing of Springfield.
In addition to her parents and two husbands; she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marceline Rushing and Rita Diestelhorst.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday December 15, 2009 at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
