Frances H. Schmidt, 84, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at her home in Godfrey. Born August 24, 1925 in Brighton, she was the daughter of Victor and Mamie (Fuser) Huebener.
She retired from Cope Plastic after 15 years as a secretary, and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. On July 3, 1948 she married Elden Schmidt at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons; David L. Schmidt and his wife Mary of St. Charles, MO, and Mark E. Schmidt and his wife Lisa of Charlotte, North Carolina, three grandchildren, Michael, Cole and Lauren Schmidt, and a brother, Harold Huebener of Kansas City, KS.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Martin, Victor, and Joseph Huebener, and two sisters, Mary Ann Siesener and Ethel Hoskins.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Father Steve Pohlman will officiate. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Ambrose Grade School. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
