Lois Lee Broderick, 86, passed away at 10:55 am Monday December 7, 2009 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Springfield, IL.
Born on January 18, 1923 in Pocahontas, IL the daughter of John O. & Mary (Conley) Meyer.
Lois Edward L. "Scooter" Broderick on May 14, 1947 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1991.
She graduated from Alton High School; she worked at Biedermans Furniture Store; Schwartz Furniture Company as their office manager, and was a lifelong resident of the Alton/Godfrey Area.
She was a member of the Cachet Ladies Club, Christ of King Catholic Church in Springfield, and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo & Michael Jones of Springfield, IL; two grandsons, Matthew Jones of Springfield, and Andrew Jones and his fiancé Nikki of Yorkville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and two sisters.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday December 10, 2009 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton where a prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm with Fr. Don Roberts officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday December 11, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Shawn Monahan OMV celebrating.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to SOJURN (Women's Abuse Shelter), or Camp Coco (Special Education Children.)
