Steven D. Jun, 58, passed away at 8:21 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at his residence in Crown Point, IN with his family by his side.

He was born October 16, 1951 in Alton, Illinois, the son of Bernard & Doris (Meehan) Jun.

He married Monica Harris on June 25, 2008 in Valparaiso, IN. She survives.

Steve graduated from Marquette High School in Alton in 1970 and then graduated from Rankin Technical School. He was a board operator at BP Oil Company for 34 years. He was born and raised in Alton and in 1995 he transferred to Crown Point, Indiana where he lived until his death. He was a gifted musician, who provided many hours of entertainment. He was a student of history, a whiz at trivia and a jack of all trades. An amateur actor, he enjoyed his participation in the Alton Little Theatre. He enjoyed his antique cars, numerous hobbies but most of all he loved being with his family. Steve was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many.

In addition to his wife, Monica, he is survived by two sons, Daniel Jun and William Jun of Crown Point, IN; a stepson & his wife, Robert & Michael Moginot of Alton; a grandson, Benjamin Moginot; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol & John Metzler of Godfrey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard & Linda Jun of Alton and David & Marilyn Fitzgerald of St. Louis, MO; one aunt, Jane Jun of Godfrey; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nephews, Scott & Ali Jun, Chris Jun, Pat Jun, Brian & Jen Fitzgerald; niece, Jill & Mike Gernigan and his great nieces and nephews, Taylor, Jacob, Dominic, Gabrielle and Madelyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

A funeral Mass will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton at 10 am on Monday, December 7, 2009 with Father Felix Michel, SSL as celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to 5 A's.
