Kathryn Marie Fessler, 86, formerly of Godfrey and Jerseyville, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009.
"Marie" was born July 4, 1923 to Charles and Katie (Kruse) Lueking in Bunker Hill, IL.
She married Alfred "Bob" Fessler on Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2002.
Surviving is a daughter, Katherine L. Fessler of Mesquite, TX.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dan Holgate of O'Fallon, MO.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Denise Fessler of Naperville, IL; grandchildren Jim and Rebecca Fessler; and Lee, Josh, Brian, Megan and Steve Holgate.
In addition to her husband, preceding her in death were her parents; 2 brothers, Carl and Lester Lueking; a son, George R. Fessler; and a grandson, Chris Carter.
Marie's career as an elementary teacher, both public and private, spanned 40 years in this area. She served the Lord for many years at Delhi Baptist Church teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and playing the organ during services. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home ? Jerseyville.
Services will be held at Delhi Baptist Church on Tuesday, Dec.1, 2009 at 10:00 am. with interment at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
