Dorothy Breeden

Dorothy E. Breeden, 86, died at 8:49 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Delmar Gardens West in Chesterfield, MO. Born March 16, 1923 in White Hall, IL, she was the daughter of Arch and Mary Ann Hutton. She was a secretary for Owens-Illinois Glass in Alton and later owned The Debonaire Beauty Salon in Godfrey, IL with her daughter. She enjoyed cooking for her family, playing bridge, and going to the casino to play Blackjack with her daughter Linda. She married James Eugene Breeden on February 7, 1943 in Jerseyville, IL. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2004. Surviving is a daughter, Linda Maher-Lesser and her husband Harry of Richmond Heights, MO, three grandchildren; Michael Maher and his wife Cathy, Matthew Maher and his wife Beth, and Marcus Maher and his wife Nicole, four great grandchildren; Matthew Maher, Ryan Maher, Jackson Maher, and Addison Maher, and a former son-in-law, Jerry Maher of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, William, Lawrence, and Robert Hutton, and a sister, Fannie Louise Hutton. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
