Virginia H. Blaine, 81, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born in Princeton, Ky. Oct. 15, 1928 to Theodore and Nettie (Lamb) Hines.
Her marriage to Donald E. Blaine took place in East Alton on Dec. 24, 1947. He passed away Apr. 2, 2003.
She retired in 1989 as an office clerk for Olin Corp. in East Alton, and was a choir member at the former St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Joe Neblett of Indianapolis, Ind. and a granddaughter, Cathy.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roy Hines.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Father James Flach will officiate services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.
Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
