James K. Simpson, 57, went to be the Lord at 1:46 AM Sunday November 1, 2009 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 21, 1952 in Wood River, IL the son of John F. Simpson Jr. and Viola Jewel Baker.
He married Cynthia Farmer on December 11, 1982 in Alton. She survives.
He was a member of the Full Gospel Evangelistic Center of Alton.
He was a family man and the greatest Dad in the World, he will be missed by his wife, Cynthia Simpson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Simpson of Wood River and Todd & Judith Simpson of Winchester, TN; two daughters, Jamie and Kaitlyn Simpson, both of Wood River; three grandsons, Ross Simpson, and Joshua & Gregory Hice; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles & Shirlyn Baker of Herrin, IL and Dannie Simpson of Bethalto, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rhonda & Ed Tobias of Collinsville and Pastors Karen & Terry McKinzie of East Alton and his companion cat, Mina.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Simpson.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday November 3, 2009 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be held at
10 am Wednesday November 4, 2009 with Reverends Joseph Dunnagan and Melvin "Rick" Naylor officiating.
Burial will be private at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
