Betty J. (Lutz) Woolsey, 83, passed away at 9:18 pm Saturday October 31, 2009 at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.
She was born on October 3, 1926 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Clio H & Caroline (Suttmoeller) Lutz.
She married Arnold Ray Woolsey on July 31, 1965 in St. Louis and he preceded her in death.
She worked for the Iron Worker's Welfare Union in St. Louis as their records clerk; and she loved her dog Sis, reading and watching movies.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy & James Cowan of Claremore, OK; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Thomas & Julie Todd of Olivette, MO; four grandchildren, Don Cowan of Owasso, OK, Kevin Cowan of Claremore, OK, Jamie Glaser of St. Charles, MO, and Josh Todd of Doniphan, MO; six great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law, Robert D. & Peggy Lutz of St. Louis, Mo and she was a Beloved Aunt and Great Aunt to several nieces and nephews and known by many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy D. Cowan, one sister, Kathryn Fister, and one brother, Charles Lutz.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
A celebration of her life will be private.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Lupus Foundation, the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of one's choice.
