John W. Mooney "Jack", 91, of Alton, went to heaven with loved ones by his side, Thursday, October 29, 2009.
He was born December 11, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John W. Mooney and Margaret (Fouks) Mooney.
He married the love of his life Florence Wille on November 25, 1952 in Alton.
He is survived by a brother and sister in law Edward and Mary Ann Mooney of Mount Vernon, Illinois. A nephew and his wife Michael and Sandra Mooney of Custer, South Dakota and a niece and her husband Carol and Charles Halverson of Libertyville, Illinois.
He was preceded is death by his wife, Florence and a sister Patricia Mooney.
He graduated from Marquette Catholic High School. He was an Air Force World War II veteran. He worked for many years and retired from McDonnell Douglas.
He had a great love for nature and spent many hours watching wildlife in his back yard. He will be greatly missed by loved ones and family.
Visitation will be at 10 am followed by mass at 11 am on November 2, 2009 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey.
Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Alton.
