Naeoma "Babe" Pfeffer, 84, died at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born October 3, 1925 in Alton, she was the daughter of Guy R. and Lucille M. (Singer) Wooldridge. She married Maurice "Smutt" Pfeffer on December 6, 1943 in Alexandria, LA. He survives. Also surviving are five nieces; Marlene Munson and her husband David of Tuolumne, CA, Wanda Swan and her husband Ron of Portland, OR, Linda Emert-Grimm and her husband Fred of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Jane Pitts and her husband Jim of Alton, and Jody Harmon and her husband Kenny of Alton, 10 great nieces and nephews, 13 great great nieces and nephews, a sister, Mildred Clarkson of Alton, and a sister-in-law, Arlene Gosling of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jeanne Miller. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice.
