Donna Walter

Donna D. Walter, age 69 of Godfrey died at 2:30 am on Sat., October 24, 2009 with her family by her side. She was born on February 13, 1940 in DuQuoin. She was the daughter of the late Mary V. (Stout) and Eugene Walter. She was a CNA at Eunice C. Smith Nursing Home in Alton for many years and a member of SS Peter & Paul Church in Alton. Surviving are four daughters; Faith Militello and her husband Rick of Alton, Mary Herring of Ft. Worth, TX, Yvonne Barker of O'Fallon, IL and Andrea Barker of Edwardsville, two sons; Dale Barker of Godfrey and Bill Barker and his wife Maureen of Shabbona, IL., twelve grandchildren; Jason Barker & his wife Cassie, Stephanie Barker, Jeniffer, Jessica, Tessa and Chance Barker, Rickey Militello & his wife Stacy, Amber and Jake Militello, Reese and Hayley Herring and Bryce Barker, and five great grandchildren, one sister; Gloria Mathews & her husband Danny of Alton. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am Wednesday at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. Delix Michel officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to the church.
