Eleftheria Callis, 83, passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2009 in Westfield, New Jersey.
She was born on March 15, 1927 Nestorion Greece, the daughter of the late Pavlos & Thomae Skornos.
She married Steven Callis on February 5, 1956 in Alton and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1990.
She was a member of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Swansea, IL.
She is survived by two sisters, Akaterne Tasogia and Morpho Migakias, both of Greece, one sister-in-law, Mary Lafakis of Westfield, New Jersey, one nephew, John Lafakis of Baskin Ridge, New Jersey and one niece Rena Glynos of Berkeley, New Jersey.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9 am until time of funeral services at 10 am Saturday October 24, 2009 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton with Fr. Achilis Karathanos officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be made to Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Belleville.
