Juanita Osborn, age 84, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL.
She was born on October 22, 1924, in West Frankford, IL to Roy and Anna Knight.
Juanita married Delmar Osborn on September 26, 1940; he preceded her in death on May 19. 1986.
Juanita was employed at the Village Café in Alton for 35 years before her retirement. She loved playing bingo and eating hot peppers and spending time with her family & friends. She was known to many as "Grandma sunshine".
She is survived by four children and their spouses; Dorothy and James Edwards of Vergennes, IL. Floyd and Wendy Osborn of Alton, IL. Lloyd and Evvie Osborn of Granite City, IL. and George and Rozlle Osborn of Vicksburg, MS. Seventeen Grandchildren, twenty-one Great Grandchildren, nine Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Judith Orr, and three brothers, and three sisters.
Visitations will be on Friday, October 23, 2009, from 10 am till funeral service time at 1pm, at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL. The Rev. Charles West officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery, in Alton, IL. .
