Eleanor Meyers

Eleanor Meyers, 88, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at Willow Rose Rehab and Heath Care in Jerseyville, IL. She was born in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Harry and Martha (Wurst) Scheffer. In 1968 she married George Meyers in Wood River and he preceded her in death in 1973. She was a cook at several restaurants in the area including Bert Shelter Care for many years. Surviving are two daughters; Linda and her husband Kenneth Sanders of Dow, and Kathleen Williams and her husband Carlos Morales of Phoenix, AZ. Two grandchildren; Michelle and Dan Baalman of Grafton and Michael Noe of St. Charles, MO, two great-grandchildren; Miranda and Brandon Baalman of Grafton. She is preceded in death by a sister; Dorothy Scheffer. A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 with Reverend Carl Cook to officiate at GENT Funeral Home in Alton.
