Theresa A. Martin, 69, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 7:19 pm.

She was born on October 1, 1939 in Alton, the daughter of the late Stephen J. & Helen L. (Atkins) Chontofalsky.

She married Roger W. Martin on September 23, 1961, spending 48 years of marriage together. He passed away June 30, 2009.

Theresa attended St. Mary's School and Marquette High School. After raising her four children, she moved to Lakeland, FL with her husband Rodger. She was employed with Picadilly's Restaurant. After her husband's retirement they moved back to Illinois to be with family. Theresa began employment with Argosy's Alton Belle Casino. She was employed there for over 10 years. She had a love for birds of any kind, lighthouses, gardens, bingo, scrabble, crossword puzzles and most of all her family.

She was our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and is survived by two sons and their spouses, Rodger & Carol Martin of York, Maine and Rodney & Francy Martin of Godfrey; two daughters Sabrina Webb and Julia Ansell both of Godfrey; six grandchildren, Danielle, Ryan, Tyler, Austin, Hunter and two brothers, Michael & Cathy Chontofalsky of Centralia, IL and Ronald Chontofalsky of Wood River.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is at peace now and has joined those who she had missed for an eternal life in Heaven.

Visitation will be from 4 pm until service time at 7 pm on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
