Margaret Bell

Margaret Alice Bell, 91, passed away at 8:25 am Wednesday September 23, 2009 at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born on March 21, 1918 in Sullivan, MO the daughter of William & Mary (King) Blanton.
She married Alvin Joseph Bell on September 12, 1937 in Alton. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1972.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville. Margaret grew up in Smithboro, IL and moved to Jerseyville after they married to raise their children; she enjoyed bingo, and was a member of the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Kemp of Alton, Mary Smith of Jerseyville and Rosemary Schrieber of Ash Flatt, AR, seven grand children, 17 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy Zeigenbein of Cottage, Pauline Hyman of Brighton; and one brother, Arthur Lewis of Arnold, MO.
She was preceded in death by her step father, John Lewis, one son Oren Alvin Smith, a grandson, Dale Smith, two granddaughter, Felicia Rexford and Robin Kemp, two brothers, Clarence Lewis and Paul Lewis; and a sister, Helen Lewis.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
In celebration of her life, memorial services will be held at 10 am Saturday September 26, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville with Rev. Randy Cartwright officiating.
Inurnment will be held at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville.
