Olinda Vetter (Friemann) Patton, 54, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 with her family by her side at Barnes - Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on October 6, 1954 to Olin & Dorothy (Grubb) (Paris) Vetter.
She married Greg Friemann in 1972 and they divorced many years later. She then married Ronald "Tim" Patton in 2002. They both survive. Other survivors include three daughters & son-in-laws, Layla Friemann (Travis Jones) of Bethalto, Chelsie and Jason Householder of Bunker Hill, Emmylou and Uriah Cole of Roxana, eleven grandchildren and step- grandchildren: Lukas, Elijah, Travis Jr., Keisha Jones, Tyler, Connor & Nolan Householder, Ashlyn (Betz), Leigha, Logan and Trevor Cole. Also surviving are three sisters and one step- sister, Charlotte Lange of Utah, Joann Evans of Alton, Illinois, Dixie Hammock of Alton, Illinois, and Rollynda Morrow of West Frankford, Illinois along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother & step-father Dorothy & Charles Rhine, her father & step-mother Olin & Louise Vetter, and two brothers: Roy & Paul Paris.
She was a graduate of Lewis & Clark Nursing School & worked as a nurse caring for the elderly for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
In celebration of her life, memorial services will be held at 6pm on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Greater Alton Church 506 East Airline Drive, East Alton, Illinois. Pastor Tim Gill will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Pitchford Funeral Home, 2555 Vaughn Road, Wood River, Illinois 62095. An account will be established at a later date to open a facility in her honor. The Garden Foundation, a foundation to help other's struggling with life. It will offer resources & assistance to all that need it. Counseling including grief, drug & alcohol, sexual abuse and much more.
