Rose A. Opper, 71, passed away at 1:50 pm Wednesday September 16, 2009 at Bethalto Care Center with her family by her side.
She was born on March 10, 1938 in East Alton, the daughter of Leto & Tillie (Schultz) Iberg.
She was an LPN for Wood River Township Hospital and retired in 1994.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters and a two sons-in-law, Lea & Kenneth Bailey of West Plains, MO Cynthia & Michael Myers of Moro; one son and daughter-in-law, Vincent & Kathleen Opper of Pevely, MO; ten grandchildren, Shane & Luke Adair, Dylan & Dalton Myers, Tabi, Evelyn, Maxwell and Miles Opper, Rebecca McGuire and Katie Bailey; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty & Rudy Sowders of Alton and Shirley & Mike Bandy of Highland; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Iberg of Highland
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, Donnie, Leslie and Edward Iberg; and two sisters, Marcella Iberg and Wilma Bizaillion.
Per her request, private graveside services will be held at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
