Dorothy Lillian Spence, 88, passed away at 9:50 am Saturday August 22, 2009 at Eldercare Nursing Home of Alton.
She was born on May 15, 1921 in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of the late Charles & Anna (Baker) Shoup.
She was married to John F. Spence and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2001.
She is survived by two sons, Frederick J. Spence III of East Alton and Edward "Rocky" Spence of Brighton, three grandchildren, Ricky Jo Spence, Randy Edward Spence and his wife, Mary, Peni Kamp and her husband Richard, four great grandchildren, Craig & Tamara Spence and Stephanie & Brian Kamp, and one brother, Charles Shoup of Ottawa, IL.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9 am until time of funeral services at 11 am Saturday August 29, 2009 with Servant and Apostle of Creator "YAHWEH" Rock Key YAH (Rocky Spence) will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The Goodwill industries.
