Pauline M. Wills, age 91 died at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born on April 13, 1918 in Dallas City, IL the daughter of the late Everett and Margaret (Stinson) Lowe. Pauline graduated from the Chicago School of Nursing in 1949 and was an LPN at the Mather Nursing Home in Alton from 1949-1971. In 1971 she became a licensed Nursing Home Administrator and purchased the Greenlawn Nursing Home in Jerseyville which she ran until retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Godfrey Baptist Church in Godfrey. She married Ross E. Wills in St. Louis on June 22, 1938 and he preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1993. Surviving are one niece and her family; Carol Ann Cotton, and dear friends; Dorothy, Sharon and Ralph Rowden of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by a brother; Floyd Everett Lowe.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with the Rev. Dr. Glen Greenwood officiating. Burial will be private at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
