Karen Lynn Fensterman, 52 passed away in her sleep to be with her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
She was born on July 6, 1957, in Alton, Illinois. Karen was the princess of John & Alberta (Peal) Fensterman who preceded her in death.

She was a lifelong resident of Meadowbrook. She graduated from Civic Memorial High School in 1975 and attended Lewis & Clark Community College. Karen was an active member of the Meadowbrook Assembly of God Church for many years. Karen enjoyed her volunteer work at both BJC Home Care Services and Alton Memorial Emergency Services. She was a recent graduate of Alton Community Counseling Center and a cherished client for many years. Karen's favorite past time was listening to her favorite band "The Fine Times" and enjoying her well earned title as one of their "Gold Star Dancers".

Karen is survived by her treasured brother, Ronald Jeffery Fensterman and her best friend, Marco Parry, a brother, Donald Fensterman; a sister, Donna Gade-Wulf; two nieces, Dawn Church & her husband David and Rhea Gade and her partner, Billy McCane. Aunt Kay, Kay will be missed by her biggest joys of life, 3 great nephews, Alijah John and Noah Lee Church and Byron Dakota McCane.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009 with Pastor Alta Vaughn officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Cerebral Palsy Association.
