Margaret Whaley

Margaret C. Whaley, 81, passed away at 1:10 am Wednesday July 22, 2009 at home with her loving family by her side while under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

She was born on December 31, 1927in Louisiana, MO the daughter of Charles & Marguerite (Johnson) Keller.

She married Kenneth Whaley on October 19, 1946 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton. He survives.

Her and her husband owned and operated Ken Whaley Auto Sales where they enjoyed working side by side; she was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey for over 40 years where she was very active and enjoyed going to church.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary "Kathy" Whaley of Alton, Barbara & Dennis Gray of Godfrey, and Sandra L. & James Hutchins of Bethalto; six grandchildren, Victoria Gray of Godfrey, Kenneth Gray and his wife, Shaana Gray of Carrollton, Katie Cain and her husband Tony of Godfrey, and Christina, Tyler and Cole Hutchins of Bethalto; five great grandchildren, Lauren, Kaitlyn, and Jenna Gray of Carrollton, and Audrey & Caroline Cain of Godfrey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles "Pat" & Betty Keller of Kearney, MO, and John "Larry" & Mary Keller of Jerseyville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a four sisters, Betty Jean Goodwin, Mary B. DeSherlia, Theresa Foval and Sarah "Sally" Holder; and two brothers, Mike Keller & Billy Keller.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday July 23, 2009 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will he at 10:00 am Friday July 24, 2009 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Fr. William Hembrow and Deacon William Kessler officiating.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
