Mario Salvador Sr., age 79, passed away at 12:25 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Alton Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.
He was born on August 18, 1929, in Mexico City, Mexico to David and Guadalupe (Hoyo) Salvador.
Mario married Celia Ramirez on March 7, 1959 in Mexico City, Mexico, she survives.
Mario was a Matador and Bull Fighter in Spain and in Mexico, for 37 years. He had a deep love for his catholic heritage and faith.
Mario is survived by his wife and three sons and their spouses; Mario and Adriana Salvador of Godfrey, IL. Gerardo and Laura Salvador of Godfrey, IL. Gabriel and Victoria Salvador of Alton, IL. Seven grandchildren Scarlett, Vivian, Mario III, Yannick, Arantxa, Jordann and Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes cremation rites where accorded.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday July 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton, IL.
