Linda Baze

Linda M. Baze, 43, died at 12:33 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Alton Memorial Hospital with family and friends by her side. Born February 3, 1966 in Alton, she was the daughter of Paul J. and Dorothy E. (Grelle) Hans of Godfrey. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. A special thanks to her 2nd family at Fischer Lumber Company where she worked for 22 years along with her best friend Kathy Brunaugh of Godfrey and the girls at Fast Eddies Chicken. On May 12, 2001 she married James A. Baze. He survives. Also surviving is a son, Cameron Dale Wallace of Godfrey, a daughter, Chloe Belle Baze of Godfrey, three brothers; Steve Hans of Wood River, Tom Hans of Fischer, IL and David Hans and his wife Mary of Town & Country, MO, a sister, Nancy Cook and her husband Danny of Elsah and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a friend to all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Jim Walther will officiate.
