Jess E. Boyle, 70, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on March 2, 1938 in Alton the son of the late John P. and Ora M. (Shanks) Boyle. He married the former Janet Ennis on September 5, 1958 in Alton and she survives. Other survivors include (1) daughter: Jill Boyle of Roxana. And his sisters in law and brothers in law: Lois and Jim Gutmann of Wood River, Shirley Krausharr of East Alton, Mary Bain of Alton, and Anita and Wes Sanders of East Alton all survive.
He was formerly employed at Olin Corp. in the T-500 building as a machinist. He enjoyed bowling, sewing, and painting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and (1) sister: Barbara Inlow.
Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Pitchford Funeral Home, 2555 Vaughn Road, Wood River, Illinois 62095. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Shotts and Pastor Douglas Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Scenic Hills Cemetery in Grafton.
Memorials are suggested to the Godfrey Church of the Nazarene.
