Paul "Skip" Frederick Young, age 63, passed away at 10:07 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at his home.
He was born on August 29, 1945 in Adams, North Dakota, the son of Frederick & Ruth T. (Rutherford) Young.
Paul served his country in the U.S. Marines. He retired as a recreational therapist at Alton Mental Health Center in Alton and currently was a security guard at Alton Memorial Hospital. He loved his cocker spaniel dog, Cooper.
He is survived by a step daughter and her spouse, Sheri & Craig Battles of Ellenton, FL; his siblings, Randy, Deborah, Patty, Ronnie & Karen and Candy and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paulette Cain.
In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held from 6:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
