Retha Viola Carr, 91, died at 11:35 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
She was born in Kane, Illinois on October 11, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Georgie S. and Cecilia (Berry) Reno.
Retha Vi was a 70+ year member of the Kane Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, and youth group, sang in the choir, and was very active in the Missionary Society.
She married Raymond N. Carr on March 10, 1950, at the Kane Baptist Church, and together they were blessed with seventy years of marriage before his death on November 25, 2020.
Surviving is two sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Melody Carr of Warsaw, Illinois, and David and Toni Carr of Kane; two grandsons Douglas Carr and Will Carr; a great-granddaughter, Blakely; a sister-in-law, Dorothea Reno of Kane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Reno.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m., Saturday until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Kane Baptist Church, with Rev. Doyle Williamson officiating.
The burial will be in Kane Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to either the Kane Baptist Church or to Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
