Mildred Cleaves

Mildred (Millie) Ann Cleaves 74 gained her angel wings on 10-16-2022. On February 13, 1948, Millie was born to Anthony and Anita (Carrillo) Jobst, who preceded her in death.

Survived by a daughter, Bobbi Engles. Granddaughter Jana Engles (Damien), great grandbabies, Kynlee, Alexa, and Ada all of Jerseyville, Illinois, a Sister Juanita (Joe) Stell of Collinsville, Illinois. Her fur baby and faithful best friend Barney.

Millie was the backbone of her family unit and will forever be missed. She was an auxiliary member of the South Roxana dad‘s club. She was an honorary member of the South Roxana American legion post.  She coordinated all the Christmas gift-giving for the needy baskets for South Roxana for over a decade. She helped host the dad‘s club Easter egg hunts for over a decade. 

She was a Lay minister for Saint Bernards Catholic Church in Wood River Illinois. She was a South Roxana volunteer firefighter for several years. She began and ended her career with JC penny.  Millie was a giver, all her life was spent in service to not only her family but her community also. Proceeded in death by her daughter, Julie Ann Cleaves, her long life partner Steve Wikner and son in law Mike Engles.As per her wishes for cremation, rights were accorded. No services will be held per her wishes. Memorials may be made to Riverbend Humane Society, 23402 Crystal Lake Rd Jerseyville, Illinois.  All who knew her knew her never-ending love for animals. ALEXANDER FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS
