Rose Helen Beard, age 75 of Troy, IL, born November 10, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Ann (nee Claussen) Helfer; a sister, Joyce Willmont; a brother, Leon Helfer; and aunt, Rose Guest.
She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Beard, Jr., whom she married in December of 1990; five children: Matt (Marie) Shellenberg, Mike (Michelle) Shellenberg, Tony Shellenberg, John Shellenberg, and Lisa (Jamey) Mesaros; five grandchildren: Kate (Zach) Haring, Abigail and Kate Mesaros, Michael and Nathan Shellenberg; great grandchild, Kyle Haring; siblings: Wilson (Cathy) Helfer, Jim Helfer, Judy Lee, Teresa Beard and Steve (Lisa) Beard; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was a wonderful mother and loving wife. Her greatest joy was being involved with her family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson.
Another of Rose’s passion was gardening. She spent countless hours in her large yard, tending to her flowers.
Rose was an exceptional homemaker. She loved to entertain, and her home was always perfectly decorated. She enjoyed and excelled at providing a comfortable home. Everyone felt welcome and enjoyed her company.
No services will be held at this time.
